BMW X5 Servicing

BMW X5 Service

The BMW X5 is a beautiful, strong SUV - perfect for commuters, families, or those who just love the feel of a BMW. Without regular servicing, however, even the best car can encounter issues, which is where our servicing packages can help.

Servicing your BMW X5

We recommend an annual Full Service every 12,000 miles (or 12 months if that's sooner), no matter what you use your X5 for. This option goes through all of the checks that the Interim Service goes through, but also delves deeper into some of the car's most crucial areas. It's perfect for keeping your X5 working at its best, while extending its life and helping to maintain resale value.

In addition, we recommend an Interim Service every 6,000 miles (or 6 months). This goes through all the common areas where problems occur (as well as some not-so common ones), and gives a thorough set of cleans, checks, and fixes. It's great for frequent drivers, and gives peace of mind in between annual checks.

Why not combine with your MOT?

If you have an upcoming MOT due, why not combine it with a Full Service at your local Kwik Fit centre?

Our fully trained mechanics go through all of the necessary checks, oils, fixes, and cleans before putting your X5 through an MOT, in order to let you rest easily. You won't get any nasty surprises and any necessary repairs can be planned in. What's more is that keeping your vehicle's MOT record free from failures can help to maintain its resale value, as well as preventing breakdowns. Book your appointment for an MOT and Full Service.

BMW Manufacturer Servicing

Considering the ever-growing complexity of modern vehicles, as well as the vast systems in the X5, a BMW manufacturer warranty can come in really handy in the event of a fault. This covers a range of possible part failures that were due to manufacturing errors and can save you a lot of money and stress.

At your local Kwik Fit garage, you can opt for a BMW Manufacturer Service. This maintains your warranty by following the specific procedures detailed by BMW when servicing your X5. Find out more about what this entails below:

Servicing for PHEV models

Due to the increasing popularity of PHEV models amongst motorists and car manufactures we also offer PHEV servicing here at KwikFit. As PHEV models work in a similar way to combustion engines, they also require a full service at the same intervals as their standard petrol and diesel counterparts.

What's involved in a PHEV service?

Even though PHEV variants operate in a similar way to internal combustion engine vehicles, if you're looking to service your BMW X5 hybrid there are several additional checks that will need to be undertaken as part of a PHEV service.

  • Brake binding check - Regenerative braking is an integral part of how PHEV vehicles operate. However, brake binding can prevent this key mechanism from working as intended, which is why as part of your BMW X5 45E service we check for potential brake binding and carry out any repairs if required.
  • Inverter coolant check - Checking for coolant leaks is also an integral and important part of a service on an electric BMW X5. However, inverter coolant isn't the same as engine coolant, inverter coolant is required for the energy conversion that takes place between the DC and AC power in the electric motor.
  • Cable check - A visual inspection of high voltage cables will be carried out, the purpose is to check for external damage and ensure all cables are in full working order.
  • Fault code check - This check will ensure there aren't any faults with key components such as the vehicle's battery and all other parts monitored by the vehicle's ECUs (Electronic Control Units).
