Servicing your Tesla
As standard, we recommend having an Interim Service every 6,000 miles or 6 months (whichever is sooner) to keep your Tesla safe and roadworthy between full services. This interim service includes things like an oil change and oil filter replacement, exhaust and suspension check, and a visual brake check. If you cover a lot of miles, or use your vehicle regularly, then an Interim Service can give you peace of mind on the road.
Our Full Service, which should happen annually, contains all of these elements, as well as a thorough engine inspection and check of other components - including replacement air filters, and power steering fluid top-ups if required. This maintenance programme reduces breakdowns, and can help to maintain the value of a car. Once your Tesla is over three years old, it's a legal requirement to receive an MOT test every 12 months, to ensure your vehicle remains safe and roadworthy. Kwik Fit centres also offer a genuine and equivalent alternative to dealership servicing, if you're keen to follow Tesla's recommended service schedule. These are carried out by specially qualified Kwik Fit service technicians, using quality parts that are of 'original equipment' standard. We use official Tesla service schedules to provide a service that is specific to your car's make, model, age and mileage - exactly as recommended by Tesla.
Providing your vehicle is still within its warranty period, a Kwik Fit stamp in your log book won't invalidate your Tesla warranty agreement. Following a 2002 European Parliament decision, manufacturers can no longer force car owners to go to dealerships for servicing in order to uphold warranties. As a result, our Kwik Fit centres are able to access official service schedules and any on board computer information, where relevant, to ensure your Tesla warranty stays valid.
